On Hangul Day, I wanted to reflect on the power of language.

“Sorry. Thank you. I love you.”

Short words, yet they carry strength once spoken aloud.

Not just feelings left in the heart,

but voices that reach another heart when shared.

Between me and my family, between us and across generations,

today’s words become tomorrow’s bond.

언어의 힘, 한글날에 우리에게 준 진짜 선물을 떠올리고 싶었다.

“미안해요, 감사해요, 사랑해요.”

짧은 말이지만, 가슴에 머무는 마음이

입술을 통해 나왔을 때 힘을 얻는다.

가슴에만 머무는 감정이 아니라,

건네질 때 비로소 서로의 가슴에 닿는다.

나와 가족 사이에, 우리와 우리 사이에, 세대와 세대 사이에,

오늘의 마음이 내일로 이어진다.

제작 노트 · How This Was Made

10월, 한글날이 다가온다.

우리는 종종 “내 마음 알지?”라는 말을 쉽게 주고받는다.

하지만 마음은 말로 건네지 않으면 닿지 않는다.

한글은 그 마음을 담을 수 있는, 참으로 고운 그릇이다.

미안하다면 “미안해요.”

고맙다면 “감사해요.”

사랑한다면 “사랑해요.”

짧은 말이지만, 직접 전할 때 비로소 온전히 마음이 된다.

그래서 이번 한글날, 나는 그런 마음을 담은 숏츠를 만들고 싶었다.

October brings Hangul Day.

We often say, “You know how I feel, right?”

But hearts don’t meet without words.

Hangul is a beautiful vessel that carries those feelings.

If you’re sorry, say “I’m sorry.”

If you’re grateful, say “Thank you.”

If you love, say “I love you.”

Simple words — yet when spoken,

they become true and whole.

That’s why, on this Hangul Day,

I wanted to make a short filled with those words.
